How virtual classroom works

Virtual Classroom

Our virtual classroom courses are instructor-led online courses that allow you to access award-winning classroom training wherever you are. We use the WebEx video conferencing platform by Cisco. Before you book, check that you meet the WebEx system requirements and run a test meeting to ensure the software is compatible with your firewall settings. If it doesn’t work, try adjusting your settings or contact your IT department about permitting the website.

We also offer a virtual classroom plus option for certain courses. This allows learners to come to the classroom for the first part of their course before attending remotely for the rest of the week. You can get all the benefits of award-winning classroom training from our great training locations, including meeting the learning professional in person at the beginning of the event, and then attend the rest of the course from the comfort of your home or office.

Up to three weeks before the start of the course we will send you joining Instructions by email.

Complete self-test links prior to your course. If unsuccessful, you can book a pre-test with the virtual learning team, who will help ensure everything works.

15-30 minutes before the course begins, you should launch the software, connect your audio and familiarise yourself with the interface.

The course will be split into multiple sessions, with short breaks in between so you can stay focused and refreshed.

What is QA Virtual Classroom?

Our virtual classroom courses allow you to access award-winning classroom training without leaving your home or office, using the WebEx video conferencing platform by Cisco.

What equipment do I need?

For the majority of courses, all you'll need is an internet-connected computer or laptop plus headphones with a mic. A USB headset is best, but you can also use any bluetooth or mobile headphones, as long as they have a mic so you can interact with the classroom.

Before you book, check that you meet the WebEx system requirements and run a test connection to ensure the software is compatible with your firewall settings – if it doesn’t work, try adjusting your settings or contact your IT department about permitting the website.

For selected technical courses and courses with remote labs, you'll need an additional screen, such as a computer monitor or TV screen (to which you can connect via an HDMI cable). Information on the required screen size is provided within the course pre-requisites.

How will I be made to feel included?

Our learning professionals are specially trained on how to interact with remote attendees and our remote labs ensure all participants can take part in hands-on exercises wherever they are.

What is QA Virtual Classroom Plus?

Virtual Classroom Plus is available on certain courses.

Virtual Classroom Plus allows learners to come to the classroom for the first part of their course before attending remotely for the remainder. You can get all the benefits of award-winning classroom training from our great training locations, including meeting the learning professional in person and other learners at the beginning of the event, and then attend the rest of the course from the comfort of your home or office.

How does QA Virtual Classroom work?

At least 3 calendar days before the start of your course we will send you joining Instructions by email.

Enter the "My Virtual Account" portal to update the provided fields, complete self-connection test or if the course has remote learning labs, book a pre-test.

15-30 minutes before the course begins you should launch the software (the launch button is located within the My Virtual Account portal), connect your audio, introduce yourself to the learning professional and familiarise yourself with the interface.
